Automatic or Manual

Cruising? Sporty? City? Highway? Try both and consider your situation & style. I live and drive in a city, bought a tip and like the ease of driving. I do think however that a manual would be more fun to drive if the traffic wasn't so stop and go. The car really comes alive with more RPMs in lower gears than what the automatic picks for you. Luckily, the tip mode helps this, nothing like revving up the engine to 6000 with 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear with a big smile on your face...

I pulled out in front of traffic to avoid being stuck behind someone turning left. It was a move that my old surban could have mastered. Wow, what a delay. It was kinda imbarassing. From now on, I'll chose the gears in the manual mode when making such a move.

that you decision would be easy with all the problems related to Tiptronic hesitation and the 45mph wobble. Unless you are is a situation where manual just doesn't make sense then get the manual.

that I wanted a 6 speed. After driving a 2002 manual and Tip back to back I changed my mind and ordered a 2003 Tip. I was not overly thrilled with the clutch/gearshift action (admittedly, it was a new shifter....might improve with break-in) but mainly, the Tip just seemed to fit the character of the car better. The car felt responsive and quick with the Tip in most all normal driving. I noticed the lag once after getting off the brakes and quickly back on the gas at a stop sign. I normally have a strong preference for manuals, so I surprised myself with my choice. Try 'em both and good luck with your decision.

I just remember more than one of them complaining and some finally got resolution through a new TCM (transmission control module).
I have no first hand experience with the problem, but if you search for term "wobble" you will probably see quite a bit.
