Default AWE S Flow Questions

Guys,

I have lodged the deal for a IPP as per my message yesterday!! Now, I have another question to ask all you experts' advice?? What will be the power gain between the AWE S Flow in compare with my current K&N drop in filter in terms of air flow rate??

Default Don't buy the awe piece. Use a stock filter and do the darintake mod. You can search the darintake

mod to understand what it is. Basically, you cut a hole in the bottom of your stock airbox.

Default RE: Thanks for your advice and I just searched the forum with Darintake

I found out lots of debate about the S Flow as well as the issue of that oily ITG Filter.. I had some issue of my previous A4 1.8T with the ITG Filter. I even washed out some oil prior installation but after 3 months of usage.. I have found out the air box bottom was like a oil box....

Belive the S Flow will have the same problem whereby, I will adapt your idea to do a Darintake with my existing K&N drop in..

Thanks a million, Scott.. I shall buy you a coffee as you just save me USD150.00 for a stuff which I can subsidize by drilling some holes when I'm free later today...

Where are you located? I have an airbox that's been modified already if you want to try it out?

Default no worries. i learned the harder way by buying an s-flo, trying it out, then selling it for less

than i originally paid. the hole/holes in the bottom of the airbox is tried and true.

Default How's the K&N filter w/the darintake mod? I switched to an AWE S-flow about a year ago but

I never oiled the filter when initially installed. The power gain was definately noticeable enough to warrent the price. However, I just took it out to clean it (for the first time) and added K&N Filter oil this time. Now the car seems sluggish and the gears are shifting very rough. I think I'm gonna take the filter out and clean the hell out of it to get rid of the oil. I'm still researching the benefits of the darintake Mod.
