Default AWE S-Flow....Why not?

Is a straight K&N drop in panel filter better? What about Cold Air Intake? CAI makes DV sound really, really cool.

Default I Think Blow off valves make noises... not diverters.. and they are not

suggested for the 2.7T... it throws off the MAF sensor and other systems.

CAI is good, but expensive...

Default leave that stuff alone, dude.

Seriously. Oiled foam filters are not a good idea upstream of a MAF, as far as I'm concerned. Tiny potential gains, big potential damage. Your car already has a CAI, too. Air is drawn in from above the radiator support.

Of course, i could be wrong-

Default I had a DV on my A4 and a "CAI" with K&N cone filter....

it was a pretty loud little sucker and it made the "ppppffffssttt" sound between shifts under load. It was kind of fun.

Just curious though....stock intake and stock filter should not be changed? I mean it seems that the stock intake is restrictive, even though it pulls air in from the front. Isn't there anything to do to increase the surface volume of the filter without damaging anything?

Default cut a hole in the bottom of the airbox, you will hear your diverter valves then

search s4 board for darinintake and you will see, i had a pic of where i cut my airbox in picposter but must have threw it out.

Default stock filter i don't think is restrictive until you go to k04's, rs4 uses same air filter as us

i do hear my diverter valves only when windows are open(which means other people hear it which is what most people are worried about) and i do have hyperboost valves so i am thinking it's the hole but it could be the metal valves although it's a pssss sound i hear not a metallic sound. guys on s4 board claim 5 hp from hole in box

Can you post a picture of your engine compartment? I'd like to see what you've done with your engine compartment and also to see if I have a basic understanding of what you guys are talking about here. Thanks.

Default Re: cut a hole in the bottom of the airbox, you will hear your diverter valves then

I do have the S Flo and was wondering if any gains would be seen with the Darinintake?

I haven't had any problems with my S Flo to this point and am always looking to pick up some more cheap power.

TIA
