dating back to 2000. It advised him as to the volatility and unreliability of the k03 turbos when used in tandem on the 2.7T engine.
The memo stated that when the two turbos are used on opposite sides of the engine.. they spin in opposite directions of each other. This counter roational force would cause a vibrational harmonic. This harmonic (under certain conditions) can cause vibrations in the internal bearings and shaft of the turbos resulting in The Song of the Turbo Lady.

hey, i like that, you should start rumors on s4 board : )
the rumor would trickle down and somebody would remember vaguely hearing of counter rotating turbos causing problems for years. one side would argue that's stupid and the other side would argue that it's not.
