I just took delivery of my new M3 3 nights ago (couldn't wait for the new S4) and haven't been in the family ar because I usually get to drive it on the weekends when the whole family is together. My impression, if anyone cares about an informal comparo or reinforcement of your ar purchase, is this. Fit and finish--ar, interior tactile feel and quality--ar blow away, Bose vs Harmon Kardon--ar not even close, of course hanling and performance go to the M3 but an unreasonable comparison. I have to say, I miss the ar, it feels great to get back in, and after the chip and exhaust in a few weeks, the performance gap will close dramatically. I am certainly not disappointed with the M3, and the SMG is cool, turn in phenomenal, brakes are *******, but I just wanted to say that Audi does an unbelievable job with quaility, utility, individuality, and tunability. Long live the ar.

the night I drove home with the car, I had serious remorse missing the third pedal, but as I have learned how to use it, it is a blast. The car matches revs on downshifts (which sounds sweet) and rowing the paddle with the pedal mashed is also a blast. Shifts are quick, and in the most aggesive of the modes feels fairly unobtrusive. I have even used automatic mode while on the phone and tring to write down a number and it worked great. Kind of the best of both worlds, although some will argue you gotta have the third pedal, I am quickly being convinced I won't miss it.

I certainly will and maybe post the results. But how cool is the ar? We have the third seat (3 kids), can go camping, clibing etc. offroad, clean it up and go out to dinner in a tranquil interior, and hit 140 without a jiggle. Just a friggin sweet car.
