I have a 2014 allroad with 110k miles on it (I have owned it since 2016, purchased from Audi as CPO with approx 40k miles). Recently have had strange issues with the MMI, and specifically the backup camera. Putting the car in reverse, the camera does not engage at all (there is no change from whatever screen is currently active (i.e. radio, nav, etc)).
I pulled out the camera module (8T0907441C) , and noticed some rust on the module case, when looking inside the case, the circuit board seems OK, although there may be some corrosion on it (can't really tell).
So the question is, is there a way to test this? I do not have any software (only my old BMW software). Any recommendations on software/hardware.cables I should purchase (to date I have fixed all my previous issues (basically coils) with a regular OBDII scanner)?
The other strange issues that just started with MMI is it will reboot for no reason, and the oddest thing sometimes I will walked by the car while it is in the garage (and the key may or may not be in my pocket) and the ignition will turn on!

Have you ever fixed this issue? I have the same issue on a 2016 Allroad...backup sensors work but the camera does not come on....the screen used to change but it was black....lately it does not even change from the current screen when I put it in reverse.
Thanks
Thanks

I still haven't decided which product to buy for reading codes, as I am not sure which will help me the most to diagnose, and I also am not sure how much longer I plan on keeping the car.

here you need a check to see the errors in the system. if you do not have it - contact a specialist - this can be found even with unofficial representatives and this is done easily and quickly

agree. just trying to determine the cheapest software to buy that will actually show me the correct codes. I do not want to spend a lot because I do not think I am going to keep the car much longer. The local dealer wants too much just to diagnosis it, and I do not have a lot of confidence (i.e. I don't trust them, they always charge WAY to much for anything).
