the original went dead in the car. Charged it, died again next day, Pulled and replaced, I had no issues with my radio. Everything worked as if there was never anything done.

with the battery since, of course, and like you I keep wondering when my '02 S6 battery will give up the ghost and force me to buy another from Advance. Maybe I'll do it soon so I don't have to worry later.

5 years on OEM and battery is being changed while in for brakes. Going to spend the money sooner or later, it's only a matter of time. Much prefer to change now than stalled at work when -20. Guess it's old age, some of the adventure is gone.

If ask for a battery for a 4.2, they quote about $89
If you ask for a battery for the 2.7T, they quote $119.
This could be a local store stock issue as they are different batteries, however dimensions are very close and the 4.2 battery is cheaper and provides more cold cranking amps.
Will figure it out in person at the store.
