Default As with Paul, I have a Deka (East Penn Manufacturing) battery. Somewhere around 2 years now

the original went dead in the car. Charged it, died again next day, Pulled and replaced, I had no issues with my radio. Everything worked as if there was never anything done.

Default Clarify -- 2.7T and 4.2 have same battery?

Autozone showing 2 differnt battery models and substantial price difference.

89.99 vs 119.99

Default I would respond, but it appears that one of my prior posts was linked! I've made it! no probs

with the battery since, of course, and like you I keep wondering when my '02 S6 battery will give up the ghost and force me to buy another from Advance. Maybe I'll do it soon so I don't have to worry later.
No loss of radio code here.

Addenda -- I love re-reading RMcQ's post of his then-new business venture, deep in the battery post

Default Re: Battery Life

5 years on OEM and battery is being changed while in for brakes. Going to spend the money sooner or later, it's only a matter of time. Much prefer to change now than stalled at work when -20. Guess it's old age, some of the adventure is gone.

Default I have one in my a6 and used one in my a4 for a few years before I sold it No Problems but I only

paid like $60 for mine a year or so ago. You sure that they are quoting you the right price?

Default 1) thanks for all responses 2) prices differ at Autozone .....

If ask for a battery for a 4.2, they quote about $89

If you ask for a battery for the 2.7T, they quote $119.

This could be a local store stock issue as they are different batteries, however dimensions are very close and the 4.2 battery is cheaper and provides more cold cranking amps.

Will figure it out in person at the store.
