Best place to get hatch strut replacements? Are they generic or specialized?

I just emailed GenuineAudiParts to see what they charge... but if I go to shucks or sears or something would they have them?

I replaced mine and they still don't work well. I got them somewhere online.

The 1s I removed from the allroad I put on my mustang and that hatch has never worked so well before.

Actually the stealer did it under warranty, sorry can't tell you anything other than it

has held the back end up for over 48k more miles

Cheapest I found them online was about $70 for the pair.

But I just got an email from GenuineAudiParts, the part # is 4B9827552N. List $47.67 genuineAudiPart price is $32.89.

I think I will just order OEM ones from them.

I have a set of brand new meistersatz hatch struts I can sell you cheap.......

They are about 1/4" longer than the oem struts but I think several people have successfully installed them by oompressing them. I could not figure out how to compress them so I ended up buying oem struts and never returned them.
