Since Volvos are now Chinese, and a new BMW/MBZ/Q7/Touareg would run around 40k, I figure it's a clear win, as long as the interior of the car is in great shape.

I'm guessing it'll end up around 13-15k. I'm comparing the cost against a brand new Subaru wagon, and keep reminding myself that I like the Audi, and that I'm not a lesbian.

Thanks for taking the time to write up your experiences. It is by far the most entertaining thread I have read regarding the allroad addiction. (I appreciate your perspective on the TIP tranny, I share the same sentiment.) Kudos to you for making it amusing as well as informative.
