Default Brake light switch - DIY instructions? Where to get part?

I need to replace the brake light switch on my 05. I searched genuineaudiparts but didn't find a switch.

From searching the forum, I've found a few dozen posts that say "search the forum for DYI instructions" but never found a thread that actually had them. A couple said it's easy.

Anyone have a link to the instructions?

Thanks.

I just got mine from the dealer, it was only like $35 or so. But you could call Carson @ Riverside, or genuinevwaudiparts.com

Yep. Hardest part was getting the panels off the dash to get to the switch. I used my Bentley dvd to figure that out. Getting the connectors off of the light on the under dash panel was more difficult than installing the switch.

One tip to anyone who does this, use the old switch as a test to install. You just need to make sure it's seated all the way, then turn it. As long as it was aligned right to begin with, it should be fine.

I put mine in, and turned it. That's all it took. Didn't need to adjust the pedal position at all like the vwvortex post says.
