Brake pads noise

I have an Allroad 2004 and just last month had the front brake pads and rotors changed, the rear ones only needed deglazing.Since they changed the front ones there is a metal noise when going on the smallest bump or tera on the road , the noise is the pad hitting against the rotor. Taken to the dealer they put more " goo" in the pad but nothing' taken again and they told me that to wait for a least 2000 miles and the noise will subside, due to " grove on the pad ......"
Is this something Normal ?
Are they bull****ting me ?
Does anyone know what is going on ?
Thanks.

And what do you mean by "hitting" anyway?
Usually when you get new pads and rotors they have to be broken-in, otherwise the pads will squeal sometimes when applied, what kind of metal noise are you getting?

Because the service people explained to me that the new brake pads are made of more metallic parts and until they " brake into " the rotors it will make the noise.
The noise is only when the brakes are NOT being applied, when the brakes are being applied there is NO noise.

Okay, stomping is over-simplifying things, but brake break in isn't that long a process.
To me, this doesn't sound correct. I'm surprised you are getting this noise. Are you sure it is the brakes? Did the service people drive with you and hear the noise? I thought goo on the back was to stop squeal for when the brakes shimmy on the caliper piston. Sometimes they have Teflon or shims on the back to keep them quiet but that is for when you apply the brakes. Let us know what happens.

I had a similar problem. If you look at the front brake disk through the wheel, you will see a shield on the back side of the rotor opposite the side of the caliper. Try reaching around the front of the tire and pushing it away from the rotor slightly. Probably only needs 1/8 -1/4" of deflection to cure.
