Reviving an old thread...
I have had it with the BTL in our '04 Allroad 2.7T TIP.
I believe I heard the S4 doesn't have the issue. What about an ECU swap from an S4? Will that fix it? Which years of the S4 2.7T TIP would the ECU be transferrable to the '04 Allroad 2.7 TIP?
I've also heard a transmission swap to a 6MT will get rid of the issue. Does the transmission swap completely eliminate the issue? I'd keep that in consideration as well and possibly hold out untill the tranny fails.
