Bridgestone Potenza RE960 Pole Position Expereince?
Anyone have any experience with these "Ultra High Performance" All Season tires which are currently ranked #1 by TireRack? I'm currently at 24,000 miles on my Conti Extreme Contacts with about 4/32" of tread left. The Conti's have been very nice but I'm serioulsy considering the Bridgestones. Downside is price which appears to run about $45 more per tire in the 245/45/18 size.

Granted these were the older model, but my ar came with the Potenza P3 Pole position and they
were like racing slicks to me, but everyone is different in their driving. I'd sell mine, as they came off the car the first week I had it...they don't look to have much wear on them...the hard part would be the sitting in my barn for two plus years.

Re: Bridgestone Potenza RE960 Pole Position Expereince?
I run Bridgestone SO-3 Pole Positions (which I believe the RE960 replaced) on my Porsche 993 Targa and absolutely love them! Of course, I live in Florida, so "all season" to me is not the same as it is to many on this forum...

I have the RE960as XL (extra load for the ar) now and
used them really for a late spring to late fall tire. (Not in the winter) Once past a few inches of snow I didn't like them and would put my dedicated snow tires on...(Winter M3's)
As far as summer/rain driving the RE960's were just fine. I don't think these replaced the S03's as stated by another poster - the S03's are/were a sticky excellent summer only tire. The tread wear rating is really high on the RE960 so don't expct it to hold the road like a nice gummy high performance summer tire...but over all should last a long time and gets the job done. Comparing the S03's I had before these RE960's - I noticed that the RE960 seems to have a narrower contact patch. Not sure why as both tires were 245/45/18's - the RE960's were not as wide (which I don't like)...
Hope that helps...expensive.
