Default Cam seals

My mechanics change the valve cover gaskets, car still smells burn oil , but he did not change the cam seal and that is supposed to be the issue..
Does anybody know or have intructions how to change does is something i can do my self????

my seals are leaking too and its a 12 hour job for a shop to do it
if you are a real gear head you could do it, but if your just a simple garage mechanic, its not recommended.

its only about $175 in parts, so thats not bad, its the labor that gets ya

If his car still smells of burnt oil it can't be cam seals since these are in front of the engine. Even if they leak, the oil doesn't drip on anything hot there.

Now, if his cam plugs or cam tensioner seals leak, then yes, it would drip on hot exhaust manifold. However, it takes only couple of hours to replace these. Cam plugs can even be replaced in about 10mins alone since they don't require you to open valve covers - just pry them out and push/press new ones in.
