Default Can the LATCH conversion kits still be found anywhere for a 2002 that should have been converted?

My 2002 allroad fell right at the time that AOA was doing the retrofit for free, but the previous owner did not have it done. I have a 1 yr old and 3 yr old and would love to have the LATCH instead of the seat belt method. I know that AOA is no longer doing it, but I can do it myself if I can get one of the conversion kits. Anyone out there either have one or know where I can get one? Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards,
Pat

Default P/N for the LATCH kit is ZAW269005

Craig at genuideaudiparts.com hooked me up with the P/N and dealer availability - which was VERY limited at the time although he only looked in New England area. Kudos to Craig for finding the kits for me!

I ordered two sets in Nov 2007 - I think it was from Tracy VW in Hyannis, MA. And after talking to the salesperson about it being a safety issue (and why do they not install for free?) he actually shipped me both kits and charged me zero - not even shipping. Kudos to him too!

My advice: call your local dealer(s) with the P/N and ask them to check the dealer network if they do not have it in stock. BTW - list price was only ~$8 for the kit (at the time). I think this was because they were supplied to all the dealers as a safety retrofit for some (short) period of time.

I installed all 4 brackets myself, although if I recall correctly it took some effort on at least 2 of the bolts (clearance issue).

Good luck.

Flip the seat backs down a bit and you can get a socket with extension on the bolts no problem.
