Most of the tires test have been discussed here<ul><li><a href="http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=4&article_id=10252">htt p://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=4&article_id=10252</a</li></ul>

Interesting, however one of my criteria is noise, which is not addressed in a test like this. My experience with the Goodyears is not that great after 10k
Anybody else on how those specific tires wear down and 'sound' and behave after a while?

I chose my tires by threadwear, price, dry traction, wet/snow traction, noise level. I wanted an above average combination of all of the above wich in most cases very hard to achieve. the reason I went with Kumhos Ecsta Asx is because of its 420 treadware, price and almost of the reviews were good or great. Plus our cars are no 3 series BMW's we've got quattro helping us out I think we should consider that when choosing tires. I had a chance to test them yesterday cornering was very good didn't even squick a bit. I must say overall I am happy (so far) I still want to test them in the rain and a light swow to say that I am completely satisfied with an overall package.

leading tires (place 1-5), and it is for sure not the quattro drive system alone that makes it a good High Performance tire in the rain. I'll buy my third set of Toyos coming Spring.....

but then C&D always offers that disclaimer too.
I'm on my second set of F1 GS-D3's and agree with everything they said. And I'll add that they are very quiet too. Absolutely outstanding in the wet! But life is veeeery limited. If I get 15000 miles from a set, I consider myself lucky. But it's always a tradeoff.
