Default I have a 2 point pulley system with a snap hook completing a loop around the box
There is a groove or channel in the Yakima box that works perfectly for keeping the loop in place. I have good, low-friction pulleys that I got at a used boat supply place here in Annapolis called Bacon's. Sailing grade stuff can be really expensive but used stuff was more than fine for my application. I even completed the system with two marine cleats on the wall where I "cleat off" my lines after hoisting the box.

Hand crank is removable once up. Too easy to use and clean looking.

Default Not cheap enough for me - >$20 ea. for BB pulley.
I think the used sailing hardware is the way to go, like RMcQ said... too bad I live in Denver now!
