CEL help, flashing yellow light on tach at acceleration...

Solid CEL light on a few days ago. Prior one had cleared after several weeks, so I wasn't surprised when it triggered again. No VAG tool (yet) to pull a code...but the symptoms are:
- when pushing the acceleration, i assume the turbos are kicking in (feels like it) and then I get a flashing yellow light on the tach. when i let off, the flashing light stops but the CEL remains on.
So I don't want to push it but figure I could reproduce by pushing the accelerator to engage the turbos. No obvious turbo whine, but I figure it's turbo-related given it kicks in at acceleration.
Any ideas or should I just wait to pull the codes?
TIA - Steve

the ESP kicking in. Does it look like this:

In any case, you should pull the codes for both issues. The ESP engagement could be that you are slipping (snow?) or steering angle sensor could need calibration or wheel speed sensor or..or..or

Yeah, the ESP seems to be flashing at times when I make quick lane changes under acceleration. I will pull codes and see what it shows.
I'm battling front end warble big time. Must be warped rotors - need to replace soon. Front tires may be wasted (Contis at 30k, so maybe that's normal...) as a result since the front end shakes even without brakes engaged - it just gets worse when the brakes are engaged.
Perhaps the ESP is being triggered by the front end being out of balance since I've only noticed this since the rotors went bad.
Time to spend some $$ and figure this thing out...the car is not running as it should, no doubt.
