First of all, I Think We All Have The Same Tranny's, right?
I've read via archives and have been told that, if i was gonna do the tranny fluid replacement, is shoul of start at around 40k mi. I bought the car 2yrs ago at 63k mi. Now its 81k+ mi.
Main reason is that transmission is not responding as quick/soon as it normally should. I know that the tranny is slow on our cars
...but maybe by changing tranny OIL, it would help it live longer and shift quicker??? I think i have, what some people call here "slipping". ...Ex: I go 40mph, slow down before a stop sign(i live in city, Chicago, LOTS of stop signs here...), slow down to 7-10mph and i ofcourse want to slam the accelerator so the car will move fast and instantly, istead - i have to take it REALLLLY easy and slow, otherwise it'll rev up the engine and than slam into gear and the car would just jerk...
So should i go change the fluid, or not. What do you guys think. Anybody had problems after changing at such high milage, any concerns, issues? Do you really feel any differences?
Reason i went to this board is, see your experience, feedback, etc.
I'll throw a pic of my babe during daylight, to entertain you a little, lol. I know i should loose that gap, and the sooner - the better. I will, soon![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
TIA to you all

...how could oil last forever??! No matter what - it is still OIL, right?!
Ok, it sais so in the manual, but hey, why dont you just use your brain?
The thing is that im affraid that ill mix SUPER old ATF with brand new = not good...?
One of my local AUDI specialist INDY Shops told me that if he performs the OIL/Filter replacement, he would not be responsible for anything, as people at such high milage been changing OIL at his shop and couldnt make it out of the shop, because something went wrong, gears were barelly shifting...
Thats why im concerned...
TIA

Oil wears out just like everything mechanical. I've never heard of a lifetime oil filter; bound to start plugging up sooner or later.
Last time I looked most American car builders recommend a 30K mile trans oil service.
