Changing transmission oil

Mine is a 2001 automatic allroad. How do I check the tranny's oil? What to watch out for when changing transmission oil? Thanks

Valvoline Max life ATF has Audi/VW approval and is less than half the price of OE Audi fluid (Pentosin or Meyle). Just check the bottle for the Audi approval # and do filter at same time. As you read in the article you must also have a Vag-Com to check fluid level.
