Default check engine light...

it happened two days ago while driving on highway 35, I was on my third gear rpm's were around 6000 and then suddenly check engine light started to blink, it continued doing that for about 30 seconds and then went away. This is a second incident, first one happened about two months ago but i just let it go.
Any input will be appreciated.

Default Agree... Have the codes checked...

Probably something minor though, maybe some cylinder misfires - possibly caused by bad gas or something...

Good luck,
Gavin

Default are your RMP's normal or are they up a little

When mine came on I noticed that my rpm's were a little above normal. This was a symptom of the touque converter not achieving full lockup so when I mashed down on the gas the rpm's went up about 200-300 rpm immediately without going any faster.

Not to be nosey, but why were you driving on the highway in 3rd gear so near redline? Was this a passing situation?
