Default Check engine light: code P0348, a little help...

So, I finally got the code being thrown on my AR. From what I can gather doing a little searching this is an electrical issue related to the camshaft position sensor? Anyway, if anyone on here knows how to fix this or otherwise get the check engine light to go away it would be most helpful. Cannot pass emissions with the idiot light on and have had it cleared a couple times only for it to come right back on within minutes of driving.

All suggestions appreciated.

Next. You have a code for the camshaft position sensor. You won't solve the problem without replacing the sensor.

Any timing work done on the allroad? sometimes it could indicate incorrect timing, though rare.

i still vote for the sensor. if you have a good indy mechanic, he can test the sensor before replacing it.

Got the timing belt done at 80K, I'm around 95K now. There is evidence that they did not replace the gaskets while in there but I can't remember and can't find invoice so... Talked to an indy guy tonight who is quoting around 4hrs time plus another $80 for the sensor. He was willing to work with me on the cost of the sensor as I saw $13 for it at Autozone. Anyway, sounds like he is basically going to take apart the engine to get to this thing. I will ask about checking it first...

Is the cost savings on the sensor worth the risk of redoing a 4-hour job again? Get the Audi sensor and a peace of mind you won't have to repeat the job.

I hear you. No, its not. Just smarting from the fact that I feel like I'm doing the timing belts all over again but this time its a sensor...
