Default Checking ATF fluid

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but where do you check the ATF fluid level? I was checking the oil level yesterday and realized that I could not find where to check the tranny fluid.

I'm assuming there is a dipstick somewhere under the hood. Can somewhere tell where it is located? Also, with the AR, what is the correct way to check the fluid? In park, neutral, engine warm, etc.

Thanks guys- Scott

Default Perhaps if you own an Airplane then you don't need to change AT fluid...

Every oil working in any environment that creates heat and friction is subject to molecular break down over time - Physics and Chemistry 1-0-1.

I've done AT fluid changes between 35-40K miles and had the level checked every 10K miles.
Some of the TC failures can be relaid to this fact, wait too long or don't check the level frequently and the bearings/seals wont function as expected.
There is no such thing as "lifetime fluid", it's been discussed here before.

BZZZZZZZZT.

Oh so sorry.... we have some lovely parting gifts for you though.

Definitely needs to be checked and changed. I went 80k on mine.... next time it will be 40k.

Default So how to you check it?

I'm a little anxious about never taking a look at it.

Default Show me data..... changing ATF or oil or a timing belt before ....

recommended shedules improves what? I would bet there are just as many cases where the schedule is followed without trouble. Conversely, there are likely as many failures with more frequent attention.
