Default considering an allroad...what are good years, bad years, known problems, etc...

are there many problems with the suspension? can you get the car without the adjustable suspension? I just want to get a feel about how the car does before i commit. I've had an A4 for years and considering the allroad for a family car. should i look for the 4.2 engine or has the 2.7T been ok? any helpful thoughts and comments would greatly be appreciated. Thanks all!

Default You are out of luck, the allroad is sold out, everywhere !! ;-)

But you could start getting great info about the car by following the link below. You'll find most of the answers right there, as well as a poll about transmission failure for AT models and all the other good and bad things we love about it ;-)
IIRC, there are no bad or good years for the allroad, it's an Audi, so you should expect some consistancy.

http://www.allroadfaq.com</a

Default they also de-contented the allroad a little after the 02 year. Such as.......

no more passenger memory seats, no tip thumb buttons on the steering wheel. I have also heard no heated steering wheel for the 2.7T (someone help me out here if I am wrong). 2002 was also the first year with the "S" mode tranny and the upgraded 6 disc in dash player.

Default Well, there was some "re-contenting" as well in '04 and '05...specifically, the...

...V8.

Default The newer the better. Audi improved reliability as it went along. Engine

choice depends on where you live. At high altitude (mountains of Colorado) the 2.7T is best choice. However, V-8 version is said to feel more substantial. We have an '03 2.7T with Tip. All came with the air suspension. It is nice to be able to "lift" the vehicle when snow gets deep. The allroad is so wonderful in the snow that we have decided to keep it as long as we can rather than moving on to something else. But we know that it won't be cheap to maintain out of warranty. Such is the price of perfection!

Yes, there is always the V8. I've always wanted to drive one of these.

Default thanks all! how is the reliability of the air suspension? Does it require a lot of maintenance?...

i'm looking at an 04 2.7T. Seems to be in great condition. How's the maintenance on the allroad compared to the A4s? it has 64K miles.

I've had great luck with my A4. any must replace parts with the allroad?
