Default Considering trading in the '03 A4 for an AR .....??'s

Since I'm Looking for more room, especially in cargo area. Does the rear seat fold completely flat? Is there much more cargo room than the A4? Trying to stay with Audi and the A4 doesn't have enough room for surf/camping trips. Opinions/Advice? I'm looking at an '01 AR with 40,000 mi

The rear seat does not fold flat, but the allroad is roomier than an A4.

Default The rear seat almost folds flat if you pull up the headrests...

36.4 cu ft luggage space; 73.2 cu ft with rear seat folded down.

Default I just traded my A4 for an '03 allroad...

Lots more room. More leg room in the back seat and a bunch more space in the way back. You won't be disappointed.

Default We went from a 00 A4 avant to a 01 allroad - very happy

The A4 was great but just too small, and the 1.8t even with a 5spd was too pokey.

The allroad is MUCH bigger in usefull space. The back is bigger, the rear seats can fit three kid seats across. We take 2 adults, 2 kids in car seats, a 75 pound lab, plus ski gear for a week in the car - without a cargo box.

You'll love the allroad.

I went from a BMW 3 series to the AR for space reasons. You won't be dissapointed with the AR.

Default do it.

Went from 00 A4 avant to the 03 allroad (with 6 speed). The advantages are to many to list. Overall, space is superior. With people in the back, you do not feel cramped. Power is more significant than the 1.8t...if you had the 3.0, I would imagine the power is about the same (assuming power to weight ratio). The versatility of the AR is ridiculous.

I can fit an entire 7 piece drum set in the rear and still have room for three three people.
