So the coolant temp guage has read cold (no needle rise whatsoever) for the latter half of winter. I chalked it off to below and near freezing temps we've been having for past 2-3 months. However, today it should've registered something, but got no rise whatsoever. Should note I've had no CEL, no codes thrown. I checked coolant sensor, it's the green variety. As an aside, when starting the car the temp guage climbs about third way up, then drops back down to cold.
Sooo, what else should I be looking for? Is the green variety still prone to failure, simply not as much? Hate to think it's the cluster...
As always, TIA!!

The sender has 4 wires, its possible the part for ECM is good but not to the cluster, you should also be able to run output check on cluster where it will do a full sweep then go to half to make sure the cluster is okay, If none of that poss. Thermostat?
BTW those sensors are only about $20. might be easy enough to just put new one in

cluster. unable to locate part on wkend...hardest part is waiting.
and if it works out to be thermostat, no prob there as TB is about due up. would just have to wave goodbye to cash earlier than was planning. =)
