CV Replacement

I need to replace the front passenger CV boot. I am not experienced enough to do it myself and have a good indy shop on reccomendation. They are saying full replacement is about 250, labor and parts. Does that sound reasonable? Need to take it in ASAP but want the Allroad to be happy afterwards, I love this car!

I just had the same issue, posted a few days ago with issue (see CV shaft replacement). My front-left CV boot was ripped, got recommendation to just replace the whole shaft. Bought mine from JH Motorsport. Installed at indie shop here in Chicago. Issue is now vibration that occurs when I am in drive and depressing the brake at a full stop (like when waiting at stop light). Got some good responses of what could be issue. You should take a look and keep in mind when doing your replacement, if you choose that path.

$250 for a complete axle or just the boot replacement?
That sounds reasonable, I was quoted $240 to replace the boot or $320 to replace the whole axle from a reputable indy. Replacing a boot is more labor time than just swapping the axle. If you are going to replace the axle then I would also recommend Raxles. But a Raxle axle alone costs $200, and no indy is going to replace it for $50 worth of labor.
FWIW I ended up replacing the drivers side axle on my car myself. It took a while since it was the first time I did it, but overall was not too bad of a job.
