good luck with your new beast. We're in Van Nuys 30min north of LA and have a huge car show on the 28th. you should come down and meet some of the local guys .
There are a few AWD dynos out here, you should dyno it and see what it really does .

And I expect it to be equally mind-numbing.
I'm trying to figure out how hard it will be to install the Laser Interceptor and Cheetah rear view mirror (GPS + database of speed and red light cameras) prior to departure.
I don't want any tickets, but I sure can't imagine 'taking my time' with this car either...

The Kid from Poland (AW article some time ago) pushing 4 digit HP numbers, KMD's RS4 build by the same guy (Hans) who runs this insane 1100HP Golf and some others have shown the difference.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan (RMcQ) jumps onto the same bandwagon since his engine is at the shop as well ;-)
It is costly but doable.

8600 RPM's would not be too good for the other bits. I'd be concerned about the block probably.
Does the knife edging contribute to vibration? That too would be an issue for longevity.
Assuming you're using billet engine/trans mounts, lightened flywheel and pulleys, the crank, at the core of the motor, might be a pretty important and/or detrimental peice of the puzzle. But this is pure conjecture on my part.
I'm not sure what Mark upped the rev limiter to on mine - it's above stock, but less than 1k rpm I think. Reliability and longevity, as silly as my mod list would make it seem, is quite high on my priority list.

Unfortunately it's going to have to be a quick trip - I'm in the middle of a very busy schedule with business-related things. I've been debating having it trucked back here, but have been planning to use this opportunity to see some family and visit some business associates too...
