Default Yes, I understand that. It's a complicated problem, for sure.

I've thought about trying to add an extra air spring in the rear toreduce squat, but I don't think there's anywhere to do it. If you've ever seen those auxiliary 'load leveling' springs they sell for pickups/SUVs for towing, that's what I'm thinking of.

Front end lift would still be a problem, but at least the 'squat' issue would be improved.

That's definitely a ghetto solution to a much more complicated problem, but I don't see any other way re the springs, unless the whole spring and shock could be taken from some other system, like the Treg or Cayenne (heavier, more powerful vehicles).

I can't believe no one has solved this problem yet, but I guess I'm the only one dumb enough to want to go to this extreme...

Default I hear you. Non-bling 3 pieces are hard to find. BBS is my fav. Nix HRE - more show than go...

As for the suspension, since you tow it's a tough call. If I tow anything it'll only be a motorcycle. I'm so fed up with my air suspension both in handling and maintenance, I'm seriously considering coilovers.

Good luck.

Nick.

Default Ex-PzKW Cdr was working on air bag damper alternative. You might want to chat with him..

I think also had some prototypes fitted to a vehicle.

I got the impression he gave up too, and pronounced it essentially impossible.

Default Suspension Problems

The above photo is a good option (PSS9's), you will have about 1.5" - 1.75" of height adjustability (manually adjustable) with out worrying about additional tire tread wear. You can adjust much higher and lower, but tread wear becomes an issue.

IMO, the Ohlins ("Best" link below) are the best option for where you are w/Das Beast. You do have some height adjustability along w/an exceptional performing suspension.

I'm sure you realize that once you get this thing on the road, the stock suspension will not be up to the task of keeping this thing between the lines.
