Default Dash Warning Lights

On my 2.7L 2004 Allroad I have experienced an interment warning light problem, which I have been unable to duplicate when at my dealership. Upon startup, hot or cold, the dash warning lights come on then go off as normal. Then after some seconds the self-leveling suspension light, the electronic stabilization program (ESP) light and the ABS brake light come back on and stay on until engine is shut off. Upon restart the lights come on as normal but shut off and stay off. Always the same three lights. The operator’s manual says the ESP light will come on when the ABS system light comes on. But why is the leveling system light coming on?

I believe this is the symptom of a faulty brake switch. From what I understand it is relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. Search and you shall find.

Mine has showed the 3 lights on 5 or 6 times but the last time was about 2 months ago. Is my switch likely to fail again soon? The car had not been driven much before this so I assumed it was just because the car was being used more.

I'd grab a new one ($20 at the dealership) and throw it in the glovebox. Read up on the install & you can swap it out pretty easily if it dies completely when you are away from home.
