Default AUL wouldn't even talk to me this morning...

I listened to all 9 caller options and none were for ordinary people like me just wanting to purchase an extended warranty. I finally hit "0" for an operator and her first question was 'do I already own the car', to which I logically answered yes, and she said they can only sell through dealerships. Believe me, I've followed every AUL-related post you've put up and thought I was "stopped" there, as we say in my business, that is, it would cost me $2k and I'd get coverage until 86k and that would be the worst I'd do. She immediately slammed the door in my face though. Maybe I'll call back and ask for your guy specifically.

I have thought about "seeing how it goes", but my fear about that if I pass up the chance to buy a warranty now, while I'm still under factory coverage, and I decide to sell an out-of-warranty allroad that's starting to go wrong, my resale will be pathetic.

An 07 XT LTD will run not quite $30k if my research is correct. Invoice pricing through IMBA. No doubt more than what I could fetch for my ar, but I'd also be starting the clock at zero again, so projected maintenance costs would partially equalize the difference.

Speaking of what I could fetch for my ar, I've never seen such a discrepancy between KBB and Edmunds before. Private Party values are at least $4k different between the two. That's a lot when the first number is a 2.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I bet I end up keeping the car in the end.

Default Just say NO to sliders!

Yo Brad, how's the summer been?

Not a fan of any of the sliding drops. EBB rules! And unless I own a shop (like some I know ;-) there ain't no Moots in my future! Steel is real for me. I've just cleaned out some bike inventory and now have Waltworks #2 coming in a couple weeks.

Nice Garmin ad, by the way.

Default Then you don't even want to consider what the Manheim auction price is if the dealer doesn't want to

hold it...way below either edmunds or kbb...first time I've ever had a car that was so far off, but remember there are few audi's driven here so that may make a huge difference.

Default Well, then just go to a local dealer, or call around and find out who sells it...mustbeaudi

"mustbe" on vacation as he usually chimes in and has connections to some other good extended products...call around and find out who sells it locally and get a copy of the contract, I'll tell you I haven't had one thing they have refused and they have paid for tie rod ends, two air springs, cam seals, water reservoir and a couple of other things...I will be extending mine to 112k here soon as it has MORE than paid for itself. I did just call my local guy (at a non-Audi dealer that I know) and he said he can't sell it to you because it would be too hard to inspect it from here But I would still call around...they might charge you a small fee for the inspection but that would still be worth it in the long run.

Default Mustbe back from vacation, in fact . . . I wish I had better advice, but

AUL sells in CA and reputable sellers should inspect per the AUL contract. I think you could buy AUL online for CA, try
aaautowarranty.com - no endorsement, just a suggestion.
CA is tough. Gold Key won't sell there. I have some AUL insight if you want to email me that could help you with negotiating a price.
