Default Display out

00 allroad
Centre display is partially out, the trip computer, radio and temp are not displaying.
The Auto check, the gears, the 'put your foot on the brake to shift transmission' and the door open cartoon are all working fine.
Suggestions please.

Hi Sam,

I had this happen to me last December just before my extended warranty ran out. At least it was the radio which stopped working and everything was blank on the centre console. The dealer replaced the whole radio for me and then everything was fine. Not sure if that's your problem but I had seen the same problem intermittently before. Sorry that's all I can tell you about it.
Cheers,
John

The radio is going fine, just the display on the dash isn't.

It might just be a matter of removing the radio and putting it back in, faulty connection in the back, but I'm just guessing here.

for a pixel fix send it to pixelfix.com. They are great!

Mine seems to work/display correctly when the car is cold. Then as it warms up the top half of the display fades. That is, the the red pixels get fainter and fainter until unreadable.
I remember reading that replacing the center display is expensive. Has anyone had theirs replaced after the warranty expired?

I get the impression that there is nothing wrong with the display itself. It's just not getting any data from the radio, or the outside temp sensor or the trip computer. Is there a common point those data streams come through?

Solved my own problem...
It's the trip computer. The reset button on the underside of the stalk.... push it momentarily and the display switches off/ on. Hold it down and it resets things.
You learn something every day.
