Default Re: If handling is your major concern, you will probably be a bit frustrated

Thanks, im not expecting it to be like my M3, but I also dont want a POS handling car. I want a all around utility vehicle for bikes, moving etc, but will NOT drive and SUV as they are just scary at 80mph!
I figure it I really dont like it I can just get coilovers and loose the air susp. Just get something that I could manaully adjust the ride h.

Default In that case, it should be fine; the AR is *far* superior to an SUV at 80mph

Default Seems like you already got your answers.

As for the $27-28K price I'm not so sure. I guess if CPO were important to you that it might be a decent price, but from the sound of it you may mod the car in ways that will make warranty coverage more difficult so why pay for one? If it is the car you want you might as well get it and not dicker too much over the last $1000 or so since 6-speeds are going to be harder to find.

If you get one do the h-sports, chip, filter modification, and perhaps a cat back exhaust. That is a huge increase in power and handling, but not going to be an honest 350hp but the torque curve will be much different from your M3. 315hp will feel like much more than you probabaly are thinking. From there gains are more costly per benefit. Downpipes will make a difference but are hard to swap. Gutted stock DPs are 90% as good as aftermarket but the swap labor is equally difficult. Intercoolers are expensive and will help. Really what you need to do at this point is upgrade the turbos to K04s with the DPs and intercoolers and then if you can get the fueling right you are playing in the above 400hp range.

Default Thanks a lot for your answers... (m)

They've got the car listed at just under 29k, and im having a friend (broker) try to work them down to around 27k.

I'd be VERY worried about owning one withOUT any type of warranty. I prob wont do a lot of mods right out of the box, other than a chip. but that could be un-done for service if something went wrong.

I've driven several chipped S4 2.7s and it for sure does hit a lot harder than the M3 did, but the M3 would hit longer...

we'll see, im also looking at 2006 WRX wagons, but they're just not nearly as nice...

thanks agian.

Default 2003 have both Manual & automatic height adjustment

I have a 2003. You can push a button to increase its height. On the road, if you're on 3rd level, it will automatically go down to 2nd level once you reach 50 MPH and it will go to 1st level once you reach 95 MPH.

I also have a third row seat which I never use. It's removable.

Default Bump upset of rear end is my biggest complaint on allroad, I was thinking it's the airshocks, not

airbags since the front doesn't seem to do it?

Dunno; it would be interesting to play with the rear toe settings

Default Well, I don't even know for sure that the rear toe can be adjusted

I've been thinking of finding a good independent alignment shop, describing they symptoms, and seeing what they can do, if anything.
