Do suspensions differ among Allroads?
New proud owner of an Allroad here! Tried a 2020 A6 TDI 55 Allroad a few months ago, and ofc got obsessed by the plush comfort and power levels it provided. It was Eur 50k here in Europe, had every possible functionality (4 w steering, autonomous driving, dead zone, 360, front cam, HUD etc), but already 100k km under his belt.
Didn't even consider buying a new one in this market, but instead got an awesome deal for an almost new one in Germany - 2022.12 A6 Allroad 55TFSI with barely 10k km It's a bit less well equipped but my question is not about that.
Before getting the car and after viewing all the reviews, was a bit worried about the petrol engine + S Tronic combo potential lag and clumsiness and was 100% sure about the absolute plush of it suspension (after testing a 55 TDI one). Well colour me shocked, the reality turned out a bit other way round. The sportiness, response and handling of this beast is unparalleled - arguably better than BMW 330e I also tested and way better than the a6 55 tdi. Eg, steering wheel waay firmer and more responsive in all driving modes.
So pretty happy about that. But the suspension is somewhat firmer as well - still more plush than 98% of other vehicles ofc, but maybe 30-40% firmer than the diesel one I tested. The difference is less noticible going offroad in the Allroad mode, but realy there in all the rest modes and on ordinary road - eg, can feel all the medium and even some smaller bumps. Read proly everything there is about the car, and haven't seen different suspensions mentioned anywhere. Except there used to be a mention of both 'Adaptive air suspension Allroad' and "Sport suspension" in very few sale ads of these cars - but not in the one I bought lol
And my Audi app (which I can't figure out how to setup ofc) also says A6 Allroad Sport 55 TFSI next to the VIN number. Anyone got an idea?
