Default Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Are you thinking of trying to change the stall speed? L10 informed me they cannot change the stall speed much on our vehicles because they will throw codes...

Regards,
Gavin

Default I need to replace the TC and am thinking of changing the stall

speed. I would like to make it more reliable and have it capable of handling some more power if I do that at some point (I can never leave things alone). I don't want to lose drive-ability though- I think the TIP matches these cars well- these aren't sports cars so I like the cruiser-ness of the auto tranny. I don't know enough about the rest of these trannies though- don't know if the TC is upgraded then can everything else handle it or not. I've spent much time researching and there aren't many answers out there concerning TIPs. If anyone has some ideas...

Default IIRC ~1500-1600 RPM. Haven't heard of stall speed throwing codes, many

of the s4 guys have 2500 and up including one with 3200 which he says is too high.

Default Thanks! I am leaning toward something low- 2000 or so, but worry about heat...

I think 2000 rpm would put it just about right for a chipped K03 motor and drive-ability wouldn't suffer (I think, anyway). I know that as torque goes up then stall increases, and that the lower the stall the cooler the tranny, so stock-or slighty higher with a stronger clutch sounds appealing, but ,again, this is beyond my knowledge and might not be the wisest thing to do.

Higher stall speed = greater heat. If you do it, install a big trans cooler.

You cannot change it too much or you will be getting codes. Talk to Sam @ L10...
