Does the plastic rivet where the metal belt buckle rests on the shoulder belt pop off?...

The center seatbelt buckle seems to somehow slipped past the plastic rivet on the belt. I tried pulling it through several times with no success. Anyone know if the plastic rivet piece can be seperated without breaking it or does this require a visit to the dealer? I want to get this fixed soon since the center belt can't be used right now to strap the infant carrier

off, but removing it will be destructive and you will have to buy a new one. The good news is they cost like $1; the bad news is the tool to replace it and make it look like the OEM installation is quite expensive. You can do it by hand, but it won't be quite as neat and clean. It is designed to be like a rivet - goes together and then locks in place, but you have to cut off the prong or point and getting that to look neat and finished is difficult but can be done by hand - just not as nice as factory.
