Default Does your dealer automatically mess with your tire pressures when you go in for service? I bet they

are charging all that time back to Audi with the warranty repairs which eventually makes it way back to the sticker price. My dealer always finds it necessary to jack my tire pressures up to 40+ psi.

Once out of warranty I'd hate to think I'm paying an extra 1/10 of an hour at $85-100/hour for something I don't want done.

Once caught the a quick lube jockey inflating my Benz tires to 52 psi because he read the max inflation pressure om the sidewalls and figured thats what they needed to be inflated to. Said that was the store policy.

Default I don't think so.. they get paid a pre set amount for each job..

based on hours it takes and parts $$. ECU gltches ..may taake 3 hours to find, but AoA only give them an hour of labor, unless they can document why the added time. Same is true for most any warranty repair. AoA has a "book of time to complete" The tech makes money when they figure out how to do it in less time.

Default Which tires?

Interesting that one person's service department thinks the psi should be 40 (full load) and another 32 (normal per the door). Mine were set at 36 by the dealer (new car). Then I called the service advisor at the same dealer and he said 39 and 42. Looking at the Pirellis on the car, I think lower is better, but I'm going to leave the front a little higher for a while.

Continental CrossContact - 32psi recommended for a 2.5 TDI so pressures may differ from 2.7t

Default Looks like a really good tire for the allroad

I'll look at them when we're ready to replace the Pirellis. Did you get even wear with the Pirellis at 36 psi?

Yes, wear was even. Conti is a far superior tyre. I'm on my second set and love them
