I have no problem finding such problems once I know a starting point.
I should have done a better search beforehand.
But I think my problem was involved with the door lock button having been depressed. Plus, I took the door panel off the day before and disconnected all the wiring to do so. This is what may have initiated the series of events.

My dome lights, windows, central locking, sunroof and so on stopped working.
01570 - Turn-Off Delay; Terminal 15
29-00 - Short to Ground
01482 - Motors for Central Locking
29-00 - Short to Ground
00951 - Tailgate Central Locking Motor Relay (J398)
29-00 - Short to Ground
Problem was the terminal 15 box under drivers carpet. Just opened it up and cleaned the cirquit plate and connectors. Everything is fine now!

Delayed Followup: I had it happen again a week after the original time...
and as before I had once again visited a fine drive through establishment (do you see a pattern here?), and as before I had pushed the door lock button down with my elbow as I was paying the bill. After I drove away the dome lights wouldn't come on so I could find dropped french fries.
I stopped the car, opened and closed the door and everything worked fine again.
