Default Dreaded "water in passenger footwell" but I am stumped

Hi,

I have searched the forum, and did all the DIY fixits such as the engine compartment/battery tray cleaning... and I disassembled the interior trim on the passenger side in front of the door. (battery tray and cabin filter housing did not look full of water at all.. and was pretty clean) I also blew compressed air up through the sunroof vent tube to make sure it was clear. I can see where moisture is running down the inside of the trim peice that goes directly ahead of the door opening (under dash) It is running down the inside of the plastic piece, just inside the door trim, then out on to the carpet at the bottom.
The killer is that the A pillar is damp right at the bottom, where the white piece joins the black dash. It is beginning to get a water stain. This is above where I would expect water to come in if it were the battery tray/air filter opening.
6 spd MT, so I am not panicked about the electronics... also it is the factory original windshield. I am hesitant about digging around the A pillar due to the airbags etc...

Are there any hints? I am still under warranty so that could be an option.. but as noted before, my dealer service is awful, so I'd like to find a workaround if at all possible.

Thanks in advance! Oregon is just staring our rainy season.. its gonna be a mess if I don't figure this out...

My A6 did this, and it was a bad seal on the windshield.

Default If you know a good body shop have them take a look. Body Shops

deal with leaks all the time are are great at finding the cause.

If it's under warranty, I'd just take it to the dealer and tell them what you found.
