Default driving with solid suspension warning light on

We're supposed to go on a day trip tomorrow, roughly 250 miles round trip, and late this afternoon the wife calls and says the suspension warning light is on solid and the car will not raise or lower. Currently it's at level 3 and has not exhibited any signs of sagging. Front bags and a level sensor were replaced about a year or so ago. If the suspension isn't sagging tomorrow morning I'm wondering if we should drive it (preferred ride of the wife) or my UrS4?

I STFA, and have read it's probably a level sensor or possibly even the suspension ecu. Without VAG-COM, are there any tests I can do tonight without tearing the car apart?

Thanks in advance

Default take the car...the light may be out on the next start...

its possibly the brake pedal switch. This is a common problem and cheap fix. Even DIY is you can get under the dash tot he pedals.

I've actually cleared it by going into jack mode. Shutting the car and restarting it, then clearing jack mode.

It came back, due to the faulty switch, but all auto level systems worked fine, it couldn't be manually changed.

Default thanks for the response paul. The brake lights work, and it's still on even now. We'll see

what tomorrow brings. I may try to get under there before we leave but that's going to be awfully early to be upside down on my back in the footwell!

Where is the suspension ECU?

Default If you have time take it to any shop or autozone to scan as the ECU issue will show on a generic

scan as <crap I'm getting old I can't remember or find my notes> a message....that isn't very helpful but you would at least know then that it is the ECU and the issue will be that you won't have the ESP either, which if you aren't driving on ice or gravel shouldn't be an issue but I drove in what turned into bad weather without it and it was a bear Good luck.

Default Back rear driver side access over the wheel well...it is tucked back in there

pretty far and sits with at least one and maybe two other modules in the line.

Default could still be the brake light switch...there are a couple of circuits in that switch. but usually

I think you get 3 light syndrome. if you aren't sagging i'd take it

Default Verdict: Bad Checksum in suspension control module....per my Audi tech at the dealer

who I got to scan it today. Any options other than to replace it?
