Default Drove an '05 V8 allroad yesterday. some dealers are on drugs with their pricing....

Very nice Atlas with full body paint and Nav, and 16k miles. Thought I'd move from my '02 which still has 1.5 yrs and 43,000 miles on Audi Assured to this one.

But the dealer was nuts on their pricing. We're talking a 2 yr old discontinued used car and they were holding firm at 43,900. Damn, that's really close to what invoice was 2 yrs ago when the car was new. Their take was that the allroad is now highly sought after since it is a discontinued car, and that it cost them $1900 to certify.

However, here's where their story falls apart. They then said that my '02 with 57k miles was only worth $14,000 to them because the 2.7's are not as desirable as the V8's. Huh? So their used car is worth an 8000-10,000 premium because it's discontinued, but my trade is a liability because it's discontinued?

Oh well. Guess it wasn't meant to be. But would have been fun to transfer all my goodies to a 4.2- H-Sport, BBK, RS6, wheels etc.

Default Ed, let me know if you decide to trade up to an 05 model............

I maybe interested in some of your mods that you don't transfer to the v8 allroad.

Default I feel your pain...went through the same thing when I thought I wanted an S-line A3...premium for

new...almost nothing ($11k) for my trade I really don't understand this...my dealer over here (you know who I mean) still has brand new A6 Avants that they are advertising for $44 and they are loaded...it is a thought, they did have, haven't been in for awhile, I try to avoid them if I can, a really nice blue with camel interior that was very nice...not sure on those if you can retrofit the variable suspension that is a sold order option or if it would be prohibitively expensive...only problem over here is that you would be running up against the same issue I had...they really hate allroads here..."couldn't sell them new, can't sell them used" is what they tell me...well hang in there something might work out or you can fall back on the pretty sweet ride you have That's been my thoughts lately for myself.

Default I'll let you know, though the way dealers are pricing '05's, doubt I'll do it. Cayenne can

be had for less. Dealer here in Atlanta has a used '06 Cayenne for 39,900. And I've found plenty of '04 & '05 Cayenne S with 15-20k miles for less than several dealers want for used allroads. Hell, Continental still wants 41-42 for their service loaner '05 2.7 allroads. That's crazy.

Default '04 4.2L V8 at Zimbrick Audi Madison, WI

Those crazy Chicago-area dealers. There is a really nice looking '04 4.2L V8 "canvas beige" (I have never seen this color before)with full body color paint and 31K miles at Zimbrick Audi in Madison, WI. It is currently listed at $29,900 on their website (www.zimbrickaudi.com). I know that they have had it on the lot for several months so they should be willing to deal. Check out link below.<ul><li><a href="http://www.zimbrickaudi.com/preowned/dsp_viewcar.cfm?vin=WA1YL54B24N086336">'04 4.2L V8 at Zimbrick Audi</a></li></ul>

Default This listing reads kind of funny for an allroad, like they picked up the verbiage for an A6 Avant...

HID headlights?? Did any of the allroads not come with xenon? Traction control? they are usually not listed that way and "pass through rear seat" does it have third row of seats, it doesn't say?....just looks different from any I have seen written up. Oh well, not to worry just a little strange I guess.

Default What do you expect???

I got my allroad 2005 v8 fully loaded for about 50k. The allroad 4.2 is an amazing car and even 50k when I bought it new twas relativaly cheap for this type of car. The dealer will have no problem finding somebody to sell it at this price.....
