Default ESP light flashing while cornering?

On a drive through some twisties here in the Rockies I noticed ESP light flashig during the left turn, I also felt some abs action as well. It was perfectly dry, good pavement and I did not push the car hard, just normal relaxing driving on a canyon road. It did not happen on every turn, just on some, with no particular pattern, after few times in a row, the light stayed on and two other lights appeared, level and ABS. After shutting the engine down and restarting all lights dissapeared, but the flashing esp during left cornering continued. I searched the archives and looks like there are usually two causes, euther brake switch, which does not seem like my case and some problems with axels, is it right? The boots on the front axels seem OK, I'll try to check them for play tomorrow. What else can be a culprit? I'm still under CPO warranty for another 3 weeks, so I'll try to schedule an appointment as soon as they can take me.

Default Sounds like the steering angle sensor is off...

this can be a VAG fix, but there may be a sudden cause to this. Did you have an alignment done recently?

Default Could be what Paulroad said, or possibly the ESP TSB - "ESP Premature Intervention"

Technical service bulletin (TSB) #A45-04-01 "ESP Premature Intervention" from November 30, 2004. I think the description indicates ESP kicks in during long sweeping turns... The TSB used to be on allroadfaq.com, but I cannot seem to find that section anymore

ABS/ESP modules D55 and earlier are affected. The version can be checked with a VAG-COM cable.

FYI, the module is not integrated in the pump (my dealer seemed to think it was). Instead, they discovered it was a seperate module located in the front passenger foot well.

My 03 had rev D55. Replacement unit was a D66.

Default Alignment was done a month or so ago

actually it was just an alignmrnt check. They found everything within specs. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
