Extended Warranty question. (I did STFA before asking)
The original 4/50 warranty just expired on the allroad. I found info that some here have extended warrantees through third parties.
The CPO on my TT has paid-off and I am interested in similar coverage for the allroad. I have a good relationship with the service manager and I've owned the car since it was born so I know the history (which has been trouble-free thankfully).
I was wondering if many/any here have purchased a warranty through an Audi dealer? Anything to be aware of?
Is this just a third party coverage through the dealer?
Thank you for your time and any help that you can give. I'm new to the warranty/exteneded warranty thing. I'm used to flying without a net in low-tech cars.

Ugh. Best time to purchase an extended is before the OEM runs out. I'm sure there are ...
... still options out there for you, but they may cost a little more than they would otherwise.
I purchased my extended warranty through an allroad forum member.

Dealers have to make a lot of profit...
so because we beat them up on the cost of our cars, all that is left is after sale items and service. Extended Service Plans are a big souce of profit for them.
Check with your AAA they usually have a plan.
You can also check with our own allroader MUSTBEAUDI, he knows the plans inside and out and can help you find the right one.
However, because you no longer have a factory original waranty, you will not only pay more, but the plans that are available generally cover less.
Even if your original warranty only had as little as 500 to 1000 miles left you would be able to get better and more affordable coverage.

I'm in the same boat and worried.
My warranty just expired and with the crazy amount of items already replaced under the OEM warranty I'm thinking my Friday night car might become a liability.

Dealers offer the Audi Pure Protection extended warranty, but it must be purchased while OEM...
...warranty is in effect, as I understand it. The warranty is actually through a 3rd party, just sold by Audi dealers. I recall I paid about $3K for the Platinum (best) plan (7yrs/100K mi) that I bought just before the 4/50 factory warranty ran out.

In up to 45 US states, a good EXclusionary (all perils) policy remains
available to you even after the 4/50 expires, in fact as long as up to the fifth year.
Feel free to email me or call if I might help you with more information on where to find such coverage.
I highly recommend that allroaders who don't wrench get good quality coverage - it's a very fair gamble that you'll come out ahead very soon into the next 50,000 miles based on my personal and AW allegorical experiences.
