Default faded cladding

Have a question about cladding color. I've been looking at quite a few of the used black allroads lately ('03/'02), and have noticed that the cladding never seems to look very dark. It looks more gray than black. Does it fade over time, is it do to improper care? Or does Audi make cladding in different colors?

Default Cladding? You're not talking about the fender flares are you? They are dark gray.

From the shine coming off your photo, I'd say you polished or Armour-All'd them too much. Looks like a military spit shine shoe polish job.

Default Perhaps the car lot used armor all on the fender flares?

And not the bumpers

Default This looks like a Cobalt Blue w/black molding.

The Black ar's come w/grey molding only.
Or maybe Black w/black combo in other countries, but not in the US.

Default There are in fact 2 different colors for the non body color lowers.the grey and the darker black one

my black 01 had grey lowers, and Gragravar's Blue 03 has the more black lowers.

There were different color schemes, so depends on what it came with.

There's also a dark green on Highland cars prior to '03, when it switched to gray.
