Falken Ziex 912 winter caution...
#11
Can't speak fo actual snow, but here in DC we had a pretty slippery mess the last 24 hrs
And the 912s seemed to do well. The were cold as most was neighborhood driving. I tried the brakes hard and did some spirited take offs with minimal slippage and the only slippage I got was intentional.
One thing I do like about the allroad is the tranny in sport mode ensures most of the braking is done via rpms and the engine in most scenarios. Quite opposite from many vehicles that are programmed to keep the rpms down and require more brake action.

Re: Falken Ziex 912 winter caution...
Just found this post in the archives. Doh! Just got back from a weekend in the Sierra where I experienced the same thing. These tires perform worse than bald P6's (which I am, sadly, missing very much.)
The only time they were bearable was when I was on buffed smooth and shiny packed snow. I think the sipes work decently in these conditions. Otherwise, they're a complete safety hazard.
Paulroad - any feedback from Falken?
