Default Fault code - Control Unit Locked
Took my 02 into the indy shop because the MIL came on last week. They found a fault code specifying "Control Unit Locked" but weren't sure what to make of it. They cleared the code but after maybe 60 miles of driving, it came back on.

Any ideas what this may indicate is wrong? Any ideas even what 'control unit' it might be? I'm not noticing any degraded performance that I can tell. I searched the forums to no avail.

What module are we talking about the ECU?

Described as an 'engine fault' so perhaps, yes?

Default I searched for that and couldn't find anything, the actual code # would help.
So you said that you had a CEL, but the car runs fine?

yep, no noticable difference...but after the car sat overnight, the light went away.
