It's posted for an '02 A4, but I think it will work for us. I'm going to try it one day. If it works for anyone here, please post your results.

Clicky

I run the fogs on with the parking lights as a day time driving light. I think this is the standard setup in Canada. The secondary roads in Maine are lined with crosses for people that "didn't see the other car" while making an ill advised pass. I know that this subject comes up a couple times a year with Euro thinkers citing German law about the use of fog lights. Here in the States, however, drivers have a choice as to what they think would serve as a safety precaution given their local driving situations. (Sorry about the short rant...)

and they run independent of the headlamps. Unlike the little brother A4, there is no VAG adjustment to run the fogs without the car's headlights turned on as well. This requires some electrical wiring, for the sedan it is easy since we have a free fuse slot in the panel...the one for the rear wiper. For me, I used right angle fuse taps. Now I can run the fogs with just the parking lights (I also run PIAA Extreme White bulbs that look xenon in color) and primarily run those as daytime running lights.
However, for you allroad folks, since you have rear wipers adn the fuse slot is occupied, you would have to take a different approach.
A guy in the A6 forum did a slightly different method of wiring. Here is his post:

I'm heading to NYC this afternoon for the rest of the week, so I'll post it next week. Sorry I'm going to miss the GT tomorrow. The brew pub is in my back yard here at work. Many lunch meetings there...!!
