Default Re: I use them as daytime driving lights...

How well do the PIAA Extreme White bulbs match the HIDs? If not exactly, do they tend to be more blue or green in color, or more yellow? I ask because I bought and installed the HOEN Xenonmatch bulbs, and although they are closer to the HIDs, they are noticeably bluish-green... more than I would have liked. I was always somewhat critical of the fake blue bulbs that the "tuner" crowd uses... now I feel hypocritical. I guess I didn't notice on their web site that they simply tint the bulbs. If I had known that, I'm not so sure that I would have shelled out $30 just for blue tint.

Are the PIAA Extreme Whites also painted blue? Or do they use some other technology? Also, aren't they quite expensive... like $60 or more? I'll check out their web site... but I'd still like to hear real-world feedback... especially before I spend $60 on bulbs.

Thanks.

Default They are not painted blue...

they are a very close match to the xenons, but photos do not do them justice. They are also the same wattage, so no chance of burning the housing or wiring (which has been known to happen on occasion with other aftermarket high output bulbs). I have tried a few others, and IMHO, they are the best match without going to a true xenon foglight.

Tire Rack has a pretty good price on them, and they ship fairly fast. Not sure which model bulb is in your allroad lamp. Is it also an H3?

Thanks. The allroad fog lamp is an H7.

Default Re: Don't bother with the Sylvania Silver Stars

Not much whiter than stock. I have noticed a little blue on the Heons but only from the side angle. Straight on they seem white to me.
