Default Forever Black on an allroad?

Has anyone ever tried this Forever Black dye gel for bumpers and trim? If so, any thoughts? I'm a little concerned bc the official color for the allroad bumpers is 'dark grey', and I don't want to screw anything up.<ul><li><a href="http://www.foreverblack.com/">http://www.foreverblack.com/</a</li></ul>

Default I've used this on my wife's 00 volvo XC and it works great but I share

your concern that the allroad trim is not black so it may not be the best choice

Default What you want is Dr.ColorChip

Go for the road rash "package" if your bumper and fenders have a gazillion tiny nicks like mine did. It's color-matched and blended very well on my 5 year-old "dark grey" allroad plastic pieces.

The road rash kit will last you for two full applications - although it seemed to me that only one application is enough for excellent results.<ul><li><a href="http://drcolorchip.com/">Dr. ColorChip</a></li></ul>

Default I used a spray can of Duplicolor dark grey on a scratched area of my bumper...

and you can't tell where it blends in with the existing color. Both tint and gloss match perfectly. I tested the color on a plastic milk container beforehand, because I had my doubts. Match the color with the color code for your bumpers (see the code in you spare tire well).

Anyone else try this?
Looks great, but does it last?
Can you do it and then apply 3M coating?

Yes I have. Results are nearly as advertised - however *very* good.

Default Yes, it does last >

meaning that it is a permanent layer of color-matched paint as opposed to a dyed product to apply after each car wash.

I have no idea about its suitability for the application of 3M film - perhaps if you contact the folks at Dr. ColorChip they might be able to tell you.

Default Duplicolor #39193, matches w/ allroad bumper code #LV7W,...

which is the dark grey color used on Atlas Grey allroads. There's been some previous excellent writeups in this forum regarding this. Check them out.
