The 402 mod is a way to lower the ar beyond it's lowest setting using the VAG-Com tool.

402 refers to the stock setting at level 2 of 402mm from the center of the wheel to the lip of the fender. If you tell your car it's at a different height than 402 the car will attempt to correct it and thereby lowering (or raising) the ride height. You are essentially tricking the susupension.
Before and after pictures show a 15mm drop in front, 10mm rear.

Yes Nebuchadnezzar is the chief 402 punk... :-)
He has written the definitive how-to on the subject. Get a VAGCOM and give it a shot.
